This study examined teachers and students perception of the problems of effective achievement of skill acquisition using government secondary school, Owerri in Imo State as a case study. Two research questions and two null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The design for the study was a case study research. The population of the study was 82 senior secondary teachers and 545 senior secondary students from 9 state owned senior secondary schools in Owerri education zone in Imo State. 12 senior secondary teachers and 82 senior secondary students constituted the sample of the study. A four point likert –type researcher made questionnaire named Teachers and Students Perception of the Problems to Effective Skill Acquisition Questionnaire (TSPPESAQ) was used to collect the data for the study. The finding of the study revealed that there was no significant difference in the mean score of teachers and students perception of the problems to effective skill acquisition in senior secondary schools in Owerri education zone in Imo State. Based on the findings, the paper recommended among others that government should provide adequate equipment and facilities needed for teaching and learning of skill acquisition in secondary schools.
